Nevada Business License Requirements for Realtors

Nevada Business Licenses Required in Real Estate

This is a reminder that the Nevada Secretary of State's (NV SOS) office has identified over 9,000 Nevada real estate licensees who are currently not complying with Nevada Business License requirements. In the state of Nevada, you must have and maintain a state business license, issued by the Nevada Secretary of State, in order to legally conduct business in the state.

In addition, local jurisdictions also require real estate licensees to maintain a current business license in those municipalities. Please check with your broker or local government to verify that you are current with your appropriate business licenses.

In March of this year, the NV SOS will start strictly enforcing this requirement. Failure to have and maintain a state business license could put your ability to continue doing business in Nevada at risk and carries with it significant fines and/or penalties.
